Casino’s opening in Singapore

The first casino in Singapore!!!

Until recently, there had not been any LIVE Casino’s operating in Singapore due to legal restrictions.  However all of that changed a  few months ago. Due tho the world wide economic crisis, Governments of  countries around the world have been searching for ways to bring in new revenue and tax dollars to help support their fledgling economies. With imports and exports down, real-estate prices dropping in more than 80% of the major markets, governments are now starting to look at different solutions for supplementary sources of income.Singapore did not need to look further than the successful business model being  utilized in Macau and within a short period of time, Live Casinos were legalized.

Consequently, there are two up Casinos that have opened in Singapore since the beginning of 2010. It is well-known fact in the Casino industry that the Asian market has developed tremendously over the last decade this has created unbelievable amounts of wealth for those who are controlling these empires. The leaders in the market have created exciting and extraordinary slot machines in online and offline casinos that are operating in the Asian market. In case you were not aware, let me remind you that in Japan they have recently built the world biggest slot machine with a height of 2 floors (more than 5 meters in height) and 42 pay lines.

Since February, it became possible to legally gamble in the first casino in Singapore, located on the island of Sentosa, named the “World of Sentosa Resort”. The Resort boasts such entertainment as a theme park (with roller coasters and carousel), a shopping center, restaurants, hotels and the world largest sea water aquarium. Since its opening, over five million people have visited the island of Sentosa, so obviously this tourist attraction is getting the attention of other Casino industry leaders to look into opening there own similar resorts or Casno’s in this newly established market.

On 27 April 2010,  a second casino will open in a newly constructed building “The Three Hotel Towers” called “Marina Bay Sands”. The three Hotel towers are connected via a roof garden, which is 570 000 square meters and which has an incredible view over the city. Furthermore, this roof garden offers residents and visitors two pools, a restaurant and an art  and science museum. The architecture of these 50 floor towers represent  modern architecture and technology at its best. The entrance of the casino will cost 50 euros and can be compared with a good casino in Las Vegas.

If these casinos and resorts will achieve a decent level of  financial success, it’s only a matter of time before Singapore will grant more gaming licenses and allow more casinos to open. The team Answergaming.com is very excited about what will happen in the next few years and we will keep our readers up to date as new projects get under way.
